Macao CDE Springboard

Macao CDE Springboard (hereinafter referred to as “CDES”) is dedicated to supporting the development of original contemporary dance works in Macao and fostering exchange and collaboration with overseas artists, thereby strengthening Macao’s international artistic connections.

CDES originated from the “Solos/Duets Showcase” presented at the Macao City Fringe Festival in 2013. It was subsequently organized independently for five consecutive editions, gradually becoming an important presentation and cultivation platform for contemporary dance in Macao. Since 2017, CDES has expanded to include invited works from Asia and Mainland China, while actively promoting local dance works to participate in regional and international dance festivals. To date, CDES has nurtured 79 local dance works, of which 25 have been invited to perform at international and Mainland dance festivals in Finland, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and various cities in China.

CDES aspires to serve as a springboard for Macao dance works to reach broader international audiences and encourage cross-regional artistic dialogue.
